Self-Reflect for a Positive Work Culture

Are you struggling to hire new employees or maintain a positive workplace culture? Look no further than the Work Positive Podcast, hosted by the dynamic Dr. Joey Faucette.
In Episode 28, Dr. Faucette welcomes the inspiring guest Daniel Baxter, a Navy veteran and business recycling coordinator for the City of Newport News.

They discuss the challenges businesses face in hiring and retaining employees and the importance of building a positive, accountable work culture. Baxter emphasizes the power of self-reflection and working with a team of individuals who bring unique skills and perspectives. With insightful analogies, dynamic energy, and practical advice, this episode is a must-listen for anyone striving for success in the workplace.

Here are three tips from Baxter for building a positive work culture:
🌞 Conduct regular employee surveys to understand their needs and concerns.
🌞 Empower employees to take ownership of their work and projects.
🌞 Create a supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and open communication.

Baxter explains in the podcast: “Leadership and management are two entirely different things. Leadership is having your finger on the pulse, getting your team to a goal, whatever that goal may be, okay. Management is trying to keep things under control. By the way, the harder you control things, the least, the less control you have”
