Dr. Anthony Wade

Executive Management Consultant | Retired Local Government Executive | Retired U.S. Air Force Veteran

Anthony W. Wade, Ph.D., SHRM-CP, PHR, is an Executive Management Consultant specializing in the areas of organizational performance and change specific to talent management, compensation administration and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). A retired U.S. Air Force veteran and retired N.C. local government executive with over 40 years’ military and public sector experience, he has held senior leadership positions in higher education and four local governments.

Dr. Wade’s experience as a consultant and/or presenter has been utilized by numerous national and international organizations. This includes, but is not limited to, the International Association of Official Human Rights Agencies (IAOHRA), Network of Schools of Public Policy, Administration, and Affairs (NASPAA), International Association of Fire Chiefs, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, N.C., City of Winston-Salem, N.C., City of Salisbury, N.C., City of High Point, N.C., National Guard Bureau, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Army, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, North Carolina Public Transit Association, Black Economic Success Trust in Denver, Colorado, Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Academy of Human Resources Development, and others.

During his career Dr. Wade served in multiple roles including, but not limited to, Base/Installation Director of Equal Opportunity Treatment and Human Relations Education, County Chief Human Resources Officer, City/County Human Relations Director, and College Executive Director of Human Resources. He has been a public sector leader as a County Fair Employment Enforcement Director and City/County Fair Housing Assistance Program Director across two local governments. Additionally, Dr. Wade has served as a past President of the National Association of Human Rights Workers, a former Regional Vice President of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), and past State Chapter leader (NAAAHR-Colorado State Chapter).

Dr. Wade holds an earned PhD in Education and Human Resource Studies with a specialization in Organizational Performance and Change from Colorado State University at Fort Collins. A graduate of the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute in Florida, he also holds a program certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Government. Dr. Wade holds certifications from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-Certified Professional [SHRM-CP]) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (Professional in Human Resources [PHR]). He is also certified by the U.S. Army as an Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor with reciprocity across all federal agencies.
